Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Michael Blasinsky
I work with students in grades 3, 4, and 5 in many different ways here at WCES. I teach classroom guidance lessons, facilitate small lunch groups, and remain available to meet one-on-one with students and parents to assist with academic, behavioral, or social emotional needs.
My classroom guidance lessons mainly focus on the Botvin Lifeskills Training Program, which promotes health and personal development. I also utilize the Career Cruising Program to contribute to students' college and career readiness. Other lessons may address bullying, personal safety, test taking skills, and any other topic that may be a need for individual classrooms.
I facilitate small group sessions, commonly known here as Lunch Bunch Groups, during student lunch times in our conference room. Students eat their lunches while they participate in these groups, which may be for several different reasons. I use lunch bunches to address social skills or as rewards for positive behavior choices. These groups are NEVER used as punishment, and students love attending!
I address individual student needs by working very closely with parents, guardians, teachers, and other mental health professionals. I can help connect students and parents to appropriate mental health and/or community programs, when necessary.
Parent involvement and communication is a top priority for me. I do my absolute best to make phone, email, or personal contact with parents. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns any time throughout the school year.
