I received a BA in English with a Minor in Mass Communication from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1991 and my teacher's certification through Waynesburg College [University] in 1993. I was hired by CGSD in 1994, and since then I have taught grades 9-12. Presently, I teach English 12 and Advanced Placement English Language and Composition.

English 12: This course focuses on a study of English literature; vocabulary development; spelling, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skill development; and career preparation including interviewing skills, research skills, and advanced grammatical content.

AP English Language and Composition: This course focuses on a connection between reading and writing mature prose from a variety of styles and authors. All writing assignments will contribute to the students' ability to write competently in future college courses. A research paper will be completed. Notes: Summer preparation is required. No more than four AP courses/California University in the High School courses may be taken in any combination without administrative approval. Requests for schedule changes will not be approved after Course Selection sheets are returned to the office. |
