As we discussed in previous communications to the community, we knew that H1N1 would arrive and it was a matter of when and what would the severity be. Doctors who treat students from our school have reported to us the existence of Subgroup A influenza which, according to the Center for Disease Control, is H1N1. We cannot disclose any specific information regarding students due to HIPPA regulations. But any student who has a pre-existing condition that makes them more susceptible to H1N1 should take necessary precautions as recommended by the CDC as well as their own physician. We will continue to practice the precautions that we have in place that are listed in our most recent newsletter and on the district website. We are also monitoring our attendance daily. Please continue to be vigilant in observing flu like symptoms in your children and refer them to your physician for evaluation and treatment should symptoms occur.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jerome F. Bartley, Superintendent
